From the time I sank into the deep sea, more than a year has passed. At first, it was only pain, and I had even given upon breathing.I stopped resisting, and quietly acceptedthe self that had lost its buoyancy. When I let my body drift in the water, eventually,a soundless stillness arrived.Little by little,I grew accustomed to this place.I became able to breathe, at least, butthe strength to desire anything morewas left somewhere behind. To rise to the surface, surely,I need someone’s hand. And I came to knowthat the one who draws that hand closeris my own will.So once again,I gather a faint strengthinto my body.Something very small is enough.A faint light is enough.Even at the bottom of the deep sea, still, hope remains.Surely, once more,I can rise again. If only I can find that lightand have the will to grasp it.
